The song was originally written while I was living up in Emeryville in 2004. I spent a lot of time walking in Oakland and Berkeley, encountering various street folk. I started thinking about what it would be like to go to bed one night and wake up homeless the next morning.
I recorded the song with Ben Barbic a few years later and put it on S.I.P.’s 2nd album, “Subtle ImPerfections.” Ben played percussion and helped to co-produce the song. Hope you enjoy.
